Egypt’s-minister-of-agriculture-meets-his -uzbek-counterpart

The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, El Sayed El Quseir, met his Uzbek counterpart, Aziz Voitov, and his delegation to discuss means of boosting bilateral relations in the fields of agricultural research. The meeting aims to increase agriculture trade, utilize modern agriculture technologies, and foster livestock and fish trading cooperation.

El Quseir affirmed that the Egyptian agricultural sector witnessed an unprecedented boom in increasing Egyptian agricultural exports to most countries, thanks to its competitiveness in the global market, the presence of numerous mechanisms to control agricultural exports, and also the country’s compliance with all phytosanitary regulations.
He also pointed out that Egypt has an agricultural research center, which is among the largest research centers in the region and home to a prominent group of research institutes and laboratories with a workforce of more than 12,000 researchers. In addition, Egypt also has the oldest and first-ever desert research center for the study of desert and soil classification in Africa and the Middle East.

With his Uzbek counterpart, Al Qusair also discussed agricultural products trade, joint scientific research, developing high-yield varieties, and adopting agricultural mechanization for cotton farming from cultivation to harvest, as well as for livestock and fish, exchanging experiences, and embracing digital transformation.
